Cal Maritime or CSU Maritime is the shorthand for the Vallejo, California campus of the California State University, Maritime Academy. In the California State University System, it is one of the 23 campuses. Keep in mind that Cal Maritime is the only school on the West Coast of the United States that provides instruction in maritime-related subjects. When it was founded in 1929 as California Nautical School, it changed its name to what it is known as now only a few years ago. Library Services – The Cal Maritime Library strives to be an eminent learning hub with exceptional holdings in marine engineering, marine technology, and marine transportation. It also aspires to be a model teaching library central to the academy's curriculum providing access to well-balanced general collections. Thus, the institute has an extensive library, equipped with state-of-the-art resources such as research guides, course textbooks, databases, journals, etc.

Counseling Services – California State University, Maritime Academy, extends free and confidential mental health support to all its students. Counseling, assessment of mental health, crisis intervention, education, consultation, outreach, prevention, linkage to community resources are all provided free of charge to Cal Maritime students through the counseling and psychological services (CAPS) of the institute. The department has also provided access to other resources, such as -

  • X-Ray/Lab- Conditions being treated at the SHS can benefit from free basic diagnostic lab testing and plain X-ray investigations in the radiology department.

California State University Maritime Academy is the epicenter of a vibrant student community. The university campus is famous for its diverse, inclusive, and student-oriented approach. 

  • Campus Life – The main campus of CSU, Maritime, sprawls across 90 acres of land and has an urban setting. The campus is tucked into Morrow Cove and provides the students with everything they need for their social, personal, and professional growth. Thus, it is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as high-tech classrooms, laboratories, study halls, lounge areas, eateries, stores, etc.
  • Student Clubs –CSU Maritime is home to several student-led clubs and organizations catering to academic interests, social causes, performing arts, etc. There is something for everyone to do outside of the classroom at the institute. 
  • Sports Activities – Athletics and sports are two integral aspects of the students' lives at CSU, Maritime. The athletics teams at Cal Maritime are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NCAA). Some sports include basketball, crew, golf, sailing, soccer, etc.
