  1. Passport
    Firstly, you will need a valid passport. Its validity must last at least three months after your specified stay in New Zealand.

If you are applying via post, the cost of the student visa will depend on your currency. For instance, if you apply for a student visa for New Zealand via post from India, it will cost INR 24,500 in addition to INR 1,087.

When to Apply for A New Zealand Student Visa?

If you are applying offline, keep in mind that the process can take longer than its digital alternative. Moreover, it will cost you more.

  2. Visit the official immigration website and create an account to apply online. If you wish to apply in-person, visit the nearest embassy or consulate and pick up an application form for an appointment.
  3. Fill the application form and submit it along with the rest of your documents.
  4. You will also need to submit the proof of payment for the visa application fee.

The New Zealand student visa processing time is about 20 days for an online application while it is around 25 days for the offline one.

 

Post-Study Work Visa in New Zealand

Want to work after your education? You will have to apply for a post-study work visa in New Zealand. The post-study visa will last for three years after your education. Needless to say, you will have to meet some requirements before you can apply for it.

  1. Primarily, you must be in good health to apply for the work visa. It can be done with a health certificate from a doctor.
  2. Finances. You must have a minimum of NZD 4200 in your bank account.
  3. Educational Qualification, with reference to the educational level mentioned on your student visa.
     

Once you have fulfilled the essential requirements, you can proceed to apply for a post-study work visa. You can either apply online or in-person, similar to the process of applying for a student visa. The rules for the two processes have their differences.

 

Online Method:

  1. Visit the official immigration website of New Zealand and fill up the online application form.
  2. Submit a scanned photograph of yours in accordance with the guidelines you will find on the website.
  3. Submit a scanned copy of your passport, which must be valid for three years.
  4. Pay the application fee, which amounts to NZD 495 and a receiving center fee which would depend on the country of your origin. For Indians, it is INR 722.

The processing time for the post-study work visa in New Zealand is about 51 days.

 

Offline Method:

  1. Visit the office and fill up the application form
  2. Submit two acceptable photographs and a copy of your passport.
  3. Pay the application fee, which differs according to the country of your origin. For Indians, it is around INR 22,850, in addition to a receiving center fee of INR 1,087.

The processing time for the offline method is also around 51 days.
