After you get an admit from a Singapore university, visit the official e-Service website of Singapore and follow the instructions. You will be asked to enter your SOLAR application number, Name, DOB, Sex and Nationality.
Next, click on submit ‘eForm 16’ and submit the required details such as your passport, travel history and background.
Submit the form along with your photograph at the next step. There are certain guidelines to be followed for the photograph, take care of the same.
After completing the form, you will be required to pay the application fee.
Once your application is accepted, you will receive an ‘In-Principle Approval’ (IPA). The IPA will come with your student visa for Singapore. You will need to present the IPA letter when you reach Singapore to the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority officers, who will give you a Visit Pass.
As an international student, you will have to pay 30 SGD as the application processing fee. After submitting the application form and the fee, your visa will take around ten days to process. Further, an issuance fee of 60 SGD is also charged when the student visa is approved and issued.
Thus, the total cost for Singapore study visa is 90 SGD.
International students who complete their education in Singapore can further extend their stay in the country for the purpose of a job.
Primarily, the students would need to apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) which allows them to stay back in the country for a year after their education. In that one year, a student must find a job which would further enable them to apply for a work permit. In case a student fails to secure a job by the end of the year, they would have to return to their native country.
To apply for a LTVP, you will require the following documents:
A valid passport
Valid Student Pass
The student must apply for the LTVP at the e-VP service and pay an application fee of SGD 30. In addition to this, you will be required to pay an issuance fee of SGD 60, once your LTVP is approved.
