Accommodation at Mac

Hey guys, i'm a current UMKC student and a Mac resident at KC, Beware of joining Mac properties when look for home at KC.
Rent increases annually.

The management is unresponsive and, despite claiming to be "friendly," engages in a blame game.

They occasionally add unrelated expenses to your billing without your request or involvement, insisting on payment regardless of objections. No matter what you express, they prioritize money over addressing concerns or reasons.

They lie about everything, showcasing a lack of concern for tenants. Once you lease an apartment, you find yourself trapped as transferring is not an option. The only way out is by paying an amount equivalent to four months rent.

The property faces various issues such as pests, frequent water shutdowns, and elevator malfunctions. The management expects tenants not to voice their concerns and does little to resolve issues, offering no permanent solutions or at least until the lease ends.

There's an unrealistic expectation for tenants to clean their units almost constantly. Any wear and tear ?good luck dealing with the annoying team at Mac International.

To illustrate, there was a plumbing issue where dirty water from the toilet flooded the bathtub. Despite an emergency service request, the response was a four-hour delay, and without any warning or notice they opened up the commode, the entire living space got flooded with dirty water resulting in property damages. The manager refused to provide temporary accommodation at least for a night, and I had to cover hotel expenses personally until the unit is cleaned and sanitized. Similar incidents occurred later, with the management consistently denying responsibility.

Despite facing multiple issues, the management rejected my request to transfer my lease to a different apartment. The only options given were paying an amount equal to four months' rent or enduring the current unit for another seven months until the lease ended.

Regretfully, I endured their service for a prolonged period, but due to more significant reasons like completing my studies, I would never choose their service again. I have shared my negative experiences with everyone I know.
