Finally My Day has come....
It took 4 attempts to hear these WORDS
(I'M APPROVING YOUR VISA)!!

ME: Good morning sir, How are you?
VO: I'm good, How are you?
ME: So far So good.

VO: University of southern Mississippi. How did you know about this University?
ME: I got to know about Southern Mississippi University from my seniors.

VO: Are they your friends or seniors?
ME: Seniors from Undergraduate school and now they are studying in USM.

VO: Why this University?
ME: It has a decent Job Fairs, Good course structure, and has much enough faculty in my domain.

VO: Is this the first time you are visiting US?
ME: Yes sir.

VO: What domain are you going to specialise in your major?
ME: Data Mining.

VO: What's the scope in doing data mining?
ME: When I get back to India I'll be working as data analyst.

VO: What’s the role of data analyst?
ME: Can I explain with an example?

VO: Yeah okay.
ME: Sir do you have any idea about flipkart. Its almost like amazon in India.
To manage loss margins on high sale goods(fumbled a lot)

VO: How did you got interest on data mining?
ME: I have done undergraduate project in data mining, so I'm planning to do further research in that domain.

VO: What’s your project?
ME: You mean Title?

VO: No no. What’s the work?
ME: Predicting student performance in future using bayesians classification

VO: Who are going to sponsor?
ME: I have an education loan and apart from that my family is going to sponsor me.

VO: What’s does your family members do?
ME: My father is a businessman in the field of construction and fabrication my mother owns a jewellery shop and my sister is doctor.

VO: Is your sister in US?
ME: No sir, working here only.

VO: How did you know that this school specialised in your interest?
ME: I got into contact with professors, they are working in advancement of my undergraduate project that relates in machine learning and data mining, and I'm really looking forward to work under their guidance if I get any opportunity.

VO: Sorry sir, I can't approve your visa and details are mentioned in the form
ME: Thank you sir.

Second Attempt

ME: Good morning sir
VO: Good morning, how are you?
ME: I'm good sir, thank you. How are you?

VO: Good, Is it the second time you attending visa?
ME: Yes sir.

VO: Reasons for rejection?
ME: Sir, I think I haven't submitted enough proofs about my financials and my exact purpose of visit to states.

VO: How many schools did you apply?
ME: I have applied to 2 schools, University of southern mississippi and
Wright state university.

VO: Did you get the admit from wright?
ME: Yes sir, I got.

VO: So why southern mississippi?
ME: Sir, the first and foremost thing for choosing this university is the amount of quality research going over there and when compared to other admits that I got southern mississippi has the best ranking in research oriented and has lowest student to faculty ratio and with highest number of experienced faculty in my domain.

VO: When did you graduate?
ME: May'2017 this year.

VO: What’s your undergraduate percentage?
ME: Sir, I have an aggregate of 8.73 on a scale of 10.

VO: What’s your GRE score?
ME: 301 with Quants 160.

VO: Tell me about credits in Southern Mississippi.
ME: On overall its 33 credits sir and with a flexibility to choose 12 credits as electives.

VO: Which subjects you are going to option in your 1st semister?
ME: Operating systems and database management systems from core and from electives I'll choose Datamining.

VO: What are you going to pursue?
ME: I would be pursuing my masters in computer science sir.

VO: So who are going to pay?
ME: My father will be sponsoring me and I have enough savings and an education loan of about 20lakhs.

VO: What does your father do?
ME: He is a businessman in the field of construction and fabrication.

VO: What’s his designation? Manger /Owner?
ME: Proprietor sir.

VO: What's his annual income?
ME: Sir total turnover will be around 30-40 lakhs.

VO: Sorry sir, You are still ineligible for Visa.

Third Attempt

Consulate: Hyderabad
Date: June 2017
Status: Rejected
 

I guess this was the most EXPENSIVE time that I ever had in my life
(Interview lasted in a minute)

ME: Good morning Ma'am
(She didn't care)
VO: Why Southern mississippi?
ME: The first and foremost thing for choosing this university is the amount of quality research by professor. Dr. Kala and when compared to other admits that I got southern mississippi has the best ranking in research oriented and has lowest student to faculty ratio and with highest number of experienced faculty in my domain.
(I said almost the same as my 2nd attempt)

VO: What’s your undergraduate background?
ME: I have done my undergraduate in computer science.

VO: Scores?
ME: I have an aggregate of 8.73.

VO: Any backlogs?
ME: No ma'am.

VO: Who is going to sponsor?
ME: My family will be sponsoring.

(She interrupted me...I thought of saying savings and about loan)
VO: What does your dad do?
ME: He owns an industry in the name of xxxx. My mother owns xxx and my sister is xxx
(I dont know why I said about my mother and sister's earning....I guess this lead to my rejection)

VO: As per the US immigration law you didn’t qualify for US visa.
ME: Ma'am. Can I know the reason?

VO: Its in the slip
ME: I got this slip earlier in my interviews.

VO: Your interview is over. You may leave the counter.
ME: Okay. Thank You Ma’am!

(Literally lost all hopes and I started mailing my company that I'll be joining)

My Father forced me to book another slot. We'll give one more attempt. Let's see.
If you haven't crack that. We'll go with job only.

Here comes my final attempt

Fourth Attempt

Consulate: Chennai
Date: July 2017
Status: Approved.
(Changed the Consulate)
 

ME: Good morning Sir.
VO: Good morning, Pass me your I20 and passport.
ME: Yeah! here sir.

VO: So, where are you going to?
ME: Hattiesburg In Mississippi state sir.

VO: (He scanned my passport....looking into screen...He took some time....I think he gone through all 3 interviews)
VO: Why did you choose southern mississippi?
ME: I was offered here as a programmer analyst in a leading MNC, but I wanted to work as data analyst. Here my company is going to provide that I have a masters degree in domain related to that. Southern miss coursework is in-line with my interests.

VO: How many schools did you get admit?
ME: I got admit from 2 universities.

VO: Other one?
ME: Wright state university.

VO: where do you leave?
ME: I live in Warangal which is near to Hyderabad.

VO: You got rejected right?
ME: I was rejected three times sir.

VO: Why did you change consulate?
ME: I have done my undergraduate here in Chennai, I came here to collect my degree certificates. So as to make changes to my interview.

VO: Which College?
ME: SRM university-Main campus.

(He took some time..Meanwhile I was praying god like I shouldn't hear those GOLDEN WORDS)!!

VO: Who is going to sponsor?
ME: My father will be sponsoring me apart from that 13 lakhs of savings and an education loan.

VO: What does your father do?
ME: He owns an industry. In the name of xxxx.

VO: Whats the outcome of your industry?
ME: We used to produce.

VO: I didn't understand, what does he makes? Is that any manufacturing?
ME: Yes sir.

(He took some time...Scanned passport again and put that in a tray)
And here comes the words..
VO: Congratulations!! I'm Approving your VISA.
ME: Thank you sir..Thanks a lot.

(WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH...THE TOUGH GETS GOING)!!
Try and try until you get SUCCESS.
