Tulane University, established in 1957, is a private research university in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is affiliated with SACS, AAU, ORAU, URA, NAICU, and SURA. Nearly 30 research centres are located within the university. In Earth and Environmental Sciences, it offers PhD and MS degrees. Students mix observational, theoretical, and experimental methods to solve complex geoscientific research challenges. Graduate student research covers a wide range of subjects, such as core-mantle segregation during early Earth formation, core-mantle retreat in Antarctica, water storage in Martian ice sheets, coastal adaptation to sea-level rise, and delta and river systems.
