I wanted to know what happens after we report our GRE scores to the 4 institutes immediately after g

I wanted to know what happens after we report our GRE scores to the 4 institutes immediately after giving the GRE.I mean, do we have to give only the institute code or the code of the MS program which we want to pursue in that particular university?? When do we need to send our SOPs, LORs and transcripts to these 4 universities to which our score have been reported??
A detailed explanation on the above issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
