Fellow members, I will be applying to spring 2019 for MS in mechanical as well as automotive to US

Fellow members,
I will be applying to spring 2019 for MS in mechanical as well as automotive to US universities. Mostly, I will be applying for mechanical stream. I have 2 years of work exp in core mfg industry in quality, development and PPC. If I have to apply to any one of the above mentioned streams, how do I wing it in my SOP.? With my experience, it makes sense to choose IE, but I don't want to pursue IE.
