Hi Nise, For GRE, passport would be better to use as an ID proof. This is usually because, in the passport we would have first, middle and last names, which would be taken up in the GRE registration. Our other ID proofs would accept Initials, but passport doesn't. So to be on the safer side, it is better that you use your passport as your ID proof. In any case if you are not able to use the passport, I think there would be an option for you to use your Aadhar card. I would suggest that you directly call up the exam center and discuss your situation with them. Mainly because they would be the ones doing your verification.
