Can I still get a LOR from my professor who has now left my university?

Question

I have a bachelor's degree in ECE and am currently employed. I planned to get a letter of recommendation from my professor because I completed a research project in college. However, he left my college this year and has moved to another university. Will his LOR still be valid for me? He taught me during my college years, so will the LOR still be relevant? Are letterheads going to be a problem?

Hi Sid!

LOR usually should be from someone who knows you and your work well. So, getting one from a professor who guided you through the project is great!
As he is a member of an university, the LOR he would provide you will be an academic one. The Letterhead would be a verification of his authenticity, not yours. Moreover, the professor would get a questionnaire about you which he would have to fill. As long as he gives a good recommendation, it wouldn't matter as to which academic institution he belongs to. If the LOR contains the information about the time he has taught you, it would be more than sufficient.
