- Dolores Kendrick: Poet who served as Poet Laureate of Washington, D.C. from 2008 to 2014. She was the first African-American woman to hold this position.
- Cathy L. Lanier: Former Chief of Police with the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. She was the first woman to hold this position.
- Branislav Andjelić: Serbian Internet pioneer, economist and politician. He is the founder of the Internet Society of Serbia and the former Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society of Serbia.
