ME(Master of Economics) Scholarship: Eligibility, Deadline & How to Apply

The department will offer up to nine merit-based scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence and strong leadership potential. The ME scholarships will be awarded as follows: three to Singapore citizens or permanent residents, three to applicants from ASEAN countries (excluding Singapore) and three to other applicants.

Each scholarship includes a full tuition fee waiver and a stipend of $6,000 per semester for two semesters.

The typical award period for Master's (Coursework) Students are 1 years.

Stipend Details:

All International Students - SGD 1000 / Month

An NUS Honours degree of second class and above or the international equivalent (e.g., a four-year Bachelor’s degree with at least an average grade of B or equivalent) in Economics or a related field (e.g., finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, operations research); or A Bachelor’s degree with at least an average grade of B or equivalent in Economics or a related field and successful completion of a placement test which is in the form of an oral interview to be conducted by at least three members of the Master of Economics Committee.

TOEFL Computer-based: 237 / 300

TOEFL Internet-based: 85 / 120

IELTS: 6 / 9

Other Eligibility Criteria

TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 85 (with minimum of 22 for the writing section)

Other Terms and Conditions

To remain eligibility for the scholarship, the scholar must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 for each semester.

No separate application is required. Applications to Master of Economics (coursework) Program will be automatically reviewed for ME scholarship. The program may ask for additional information from applicants accepted to the programme who are interested in the scholarship. If deemed necessary, partial scholarship will be awarded.
