What is the difference between MS and MPS degree in USA?

I'm planning to apply for fall  2022 intake in University of Maryland at Baltimore County for MPS Cyber Security. 
Should wait for another admit from another University which offers MS degree or should I go with MPS dgeree.

Academic degrees like MA and MS are based on theory and case studies and marked by written exams or coursework or both and involve knowledge acquired primarily through academic rigour.

However, MPS programs are either based on professional experience or are industry based or industry focussed and involve more on the job work based knowledge and may take into account hands on experience/ knowledge already gained through work or life experience.

At the end of the day, both types of degrees are proofs of achievement. Personally, I feel the job specification and person specification would matter more in the job market and academic achievement is an essential part of the whole criteria in staffing, selection, recruitment and retention in Human Resource planning and development.

Academic achievements help in crossing the thresholds set by the industry and is more often used as a tool for sifting through applicants. While the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) is a master's degree that combines traditional graduate degrees, such as the Master of Arts or Master of Science, with the specialized, industry-specific concentration.
