UT Dallas - Scholarship Acceptance

Question

I recently received a scholarship from the Johnson School of Engineering at UT Dallas. The email mentions:

"Please let us know if you accept this scholarship (and thus you are expected to enroll for Fall ‘25 classes – enrollment likely begins in early April) by Friday, March 28th, close of business day."

I have already accepted their admit but I’m unsure if accepting the scholarship would bind me to enroll. If I accept the scholarship but later decide not to attend UT Dallas, would there be any financial penalties or other consequences?

Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Any insights would be appreciated!
