UBC, Toronto and Waterloo have started sending admits. Mcgill will be mostly in March as it is less likely they'll send decisions before their deadline (1 Mar). Waterloo has extended their application deadline for Mmath program so that may delay the decisions.

Toronto sent mass rejects in June last year and UBC and SFU in May. So it's a while before the rejects. Keep your hopes alive till then. All the best!

Waterloo still accepting applications so only a few have been sent. I know a guy who got into Mmath after interview plus there are several on gradcafe. Same for Toronto and UBC. Mcgill  is also accepting applications so not many decisions yet. Good luck!

@Ashish depends on your future ambition, cost constraints and program content at each University. UVic (Affordable), Alberta and UMTC are quite good. Stony is fine. Pick wisely. Good luck.

Ashish, that's great. Just that Victoria cost of living will be about 1200 CAD per month or about that much. Just look at numbeo for cost of living. All the best ! :)

Yes that can save a lot of money! But I'd prefer a smaller studio or basement suite that would cost a bit more than shared 1 bhk. So do consider that also. Look at apps like kijiji to get rented suite in homes or folks who are looking for roommates.

Ashish, yeah there is that issue. But if you can find a good offer and get it confirmed by acquaintance (some Indian person from your University) that should be fine. I would personally suggest you pay a bit more and go to Univ accommodation ( which is generally expensive but complete in most aspects) for the first year and then look for a better place once there for the second year. Kijiji would be useful then.

@LFC Waterloo is ambitious for all students. More do for you due to GPA and GRE. Toefl is also an issue. You can consider applying to some Univ that don't need GRE and may still be accepting late applications for Fall 17. Else, you may prepare more and retake GRE and TOEFL. Boost your profile with work ex or research ex based on the program you want to apply for.

Their program gets full by the end of April. First set of admit decisions are sent in January and first set of rejects are provided in mid to late February. If you have not received any feedback by early March, it means it is still being considered for admission. This is the response I got from UBC.

Anmol,According to my research, Victoria ECE department  is better than Alberta(the program I want to do research in). I am not sure to finalize Victoria or UMTC  as funding would be main problem in UMTC ,also less TA,RA for my field.That is reason I am in favor of UVic, Please help me make a decision!
