1) As a college project designed a simulation which helped to understand the various networks and their vertical hand-off while traveling at various speeds. Using Mat Lab and Xilinx. The result was borrowed by the professor for his research in the similar field that won him the best project award from the university.
2)Certified myself from ORACLE as a database developer.
3)Worked with world’s leading retail clients like M&S, Co-operative, ASDA, Wal-Mart designing their data warehouses, managing various databases like Oracle, DB2, Teradata, analysing large datasets and presented graphical analysis to clients using SQL & Reporting tools.
4)Awarded twice by employer, the “On Spot” award for efficiently designing and developing data warehouses. Mark & Spencer's IT Head of Technology has awarded the achievement certificate for my efforts to automate 75% of testing thus reducing manual efforts. As a process improvement, also developed a system for ASDA which helped them to geo-locate any nearest ASDA store using UK postcodes thus replacing the Google Map API. This uses the “Haversine” algorithm to calculate the nearest store and has helped them to save 100 million USD every year. Awarded by ASDA CEO with an achievement certificate.
5) During my job deputation in Leeds, United Kingdom, I have worked closely with Business Analysts and helped them to map their business requirement with the Physical Data Model and implemented change data capture techniques using Slowly Changing Dimensions. Also involved in performance tuning the database codes to reduce resource consumption and eliminate data skew, using DBQL, Explain Plans, Primary/Secondary/Partition Index analysis, Query Re-write, and utilizing database best practices.
6) Awarded for designing and implementing an efficient search algorithm in database. This helped to retrieve data very quickly from large data sets in milliseconds. It was implemented using ORACLE table type memory objects.
