- Cheryl Brown Henderson - Civil rights activist and educator. She is one of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who were the first to integrate Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- Evelyn Lowery - Civil rights activist and minister. She was the co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and the wife of civil rights icon, Joseph Lowery.
- Willie Banks - Former MLB player. He played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox, and New York Mets.
- Derrick Brooks - Former NFL player. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his entire career and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
