Regarding Health Insurance for Students in USA

My University required mandator health insurance. It is worth 3700$. Is there any cheaper and good alternative I can go for?

Some time ago, I read an article that stated that outside Asia there is a courtesy to ask the victim of an accident if he wanted to call an ambulance. Hospital costs averaged $2,607 per day throughout the U.S. The average charge for emergency ground ambulance services costs around $800 to $940 per mile. 
Insurance will help cover almost 50 to 90% of these charges. Personally, I would recommend getting the best-recommended health insurance from the university and not think twice about it because the one thing you can't afford to be in the USA is to be an international student and get sick without health insurance.

Every person has different needs regarding health. Check the terms covered in the health insurance. If it covers everything you need then it's good insurance. Also, ask the current students for recommendations regarding health inusrance.
