Did anyone receive admission decision from NJIT? My application status on admission portal is Admit/

Did anyone receive admission decision from NJIT? My application status on admission portal is Admit/ Financial Docs Required. After asking Director of University admission he told that I have been accepted and they will mail me regarding further steps soon. My recommendation letter and official IELTS score, and official transcript were not submitted yet. I applied on 15 January. How did they come up with a decision such early even some documents are missing? Should I contact faculties now if I am interested in obtaining research position?
