TOEFL is primarily required to assess a person's level of English literacy because it focuses on how English is used in classroom discourse. Instead of informal language or conversational English, the TOEFL reading parts employ professional, academic language and elevated vocabulary. As a result, it is the exam that students take the most often as a part of the admissions process worldwide.
However, there are two main test types IBT and PBT each of which has a range of possible scores and is based either online or on paper. The test should take a total of four and a half hours to finish all four sections. Each part has a 30-point rating scale. After adding these sectional results, a final, overall score of 120 points is obtained.
