Transportation in the city

The Newcastle City Center is around 10 kilometers from the Newcastle International Airport. From the airport to the city center, metro is available; the trip to Haymarket (the closest stop to the University) takes around 25 minutes. Newcastle Central Station is also readily accessible from London King's Cross, Glasgow, and Edinburgh via the East Coast mainline. The Haymarket Metro station is located directly across from the school and is only two stops away from Central Station. The station is 18 minutes walking distance from the campus.

  • Newcastle University campus is spread over 50 acres of land. Two farms, multiple labs, Clinical Skills suites, a marine laboratory and vessel, purpose-built music and media studios, Hatton Art Gallery, and The Great North Museum are part of the campus.

It has approximately 160 student-run societies and over 60 sports clubs spanning a wide range of topics, cultural interests, politics, religion, sports, and the opportunity to participate in a variety of volunteer programs. It provides both on-campus and off-campus facilities.


On campus accomodation

  • All Newcastle University International students have access to on-campus accommodation services. The university offers the safest and most comfortable lodging options for all of its new students. Students can pick from a range of housing alternatives. Many houses are conveniently located near campus.
  • The institution features nine undergraduate residence halls and four postgraduate residence halls, and dormitories are self-catering.
  • The cost of accommodation is roughly  2200 GBP ( INR 2 lakh) per month and is at a 5 to 10-minute walk from the University.
  • A bed, a wardrobe, a cabinet, a shelf, curtains, a table, a desk and a chair are among the room's amenities, and a lounge, Wi-Fi, public TV,  bike storage, laundry and free parking are some common areas facilities.
  • The University provides accessible rooms to satisfy an individual's medical or personal needs based upon special request. People with children can choose from 24 self-contained flats in one of the two residence halls.
