Transportation in the city

The University provides transport to the students returning to St Andrew's at a subsidized charge that can be paid at the time of booking on the online booking system of the university. The service covers Glasgow airport, Edinburgh airport, Leuchars train station, Aberdeen airport, Dundee airport, and train station. Airlink buses run throughout the day. On arriving at Waverley Bridge, the students should proceed to Edinburgh Waverley train station and board a train to Aberdeen or Dyce. This train will stop at the Leuchars station.

  • The University has three libraries namely, The JF Allen Library which holds e-books, and journals related to science subjects, the Martyrs Kirk Research Library which is a go-to place for the PG and research students, and the St. Mary’s College Library which has a Divinity and Medieval History collection.
  • The university has two major collegiate chapels. The chapel was founded in 1450 by Bishop James Kennedy and is a center of university life.
  • The University is among the Scottish universities that have significant students living in the university-maintained accommodation. The endowment of the university has been invested under the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment (UNPRI) initiative along with a sustainable ethical policy enforced. The target of the university is to be the UK's first carbon-neutral university.
