Transportation in the city

The Adam Smith Business School is located in Glasgow, Scotland, UK and the university is only 2 miles away from the city. Students can travel to the university through public transportation, the bus, and the tram. The bus journey lasts for 10 minutes and is estimated to cost between 1 to 2 GBP (120 to 240 INR). The tram takes around 13 minutes and is estimated to cost the same amount. The fastest way to the university is through a taxi which lasts for 4 minutes and costs between  5 to 7 GBP (550 to 750 INR). 


Services offered by the university

Within the University of Glasgow, the Adam Smith Business School is part of the Gilmorehill Campus, where majority of the teaching and research facilities are placed. 

  • The Gilmorehill campus has the capacity to host 2500 students and facilities within its 100 buildings include a theater, cinema and teaching rooms. 
  • Students and faculty have access to the enormous library of 12 floors which hosts more than three million books and journals. 
  • The campus is equipped with indoor sports facilities which include a swimming pool, art gallery, two student unions and the school’s museum.

Student life

  • As part of their expansion project, a Postgraduate Teaching Hub and Adam Smith Business School building are being designed to be the first facility on campus designed for students of graduate programmes. The new projects are expected to have many interactive teaching spaces, a 500-seat lecture theater, a cafe and round-the-clock access. 
  • There are 12 student clubs and societies supported by the Adam Smith Business School. 

On campus accomodation

Adam Smith Business School provides hostel facilities for all students. The housing facilities while handled by the University of Glasgow are not on campus but within walking distance. 

  • For undergraduate students, Kelvinhaugh Gate provides self-catered en suite accommodation through flats that comprise 3 or 5 single study bedrooms along with a common living/kitchen area. For the year of 2022-2023, the room costs 163 GBP per week (16,008 INR).
  • Kelvinhaugh Street provides self-catered accommodation for undergraduate and postgraduate students through 5 person flats that contain single study bedrooms, a common living/kitchen area, shower room, and toilet facilities. For 2022-2023, the room costs 134 GBP per week (13,096 INR).
  • For undergraduate students, Murano Street Student Village provides self-catered accommodation through self-contained flats consisting of single study bedrooms along with common living/kitchen area, bathroom, and toilet facilities. For the year of 2022-2023, the room costs 134 GBP per week (13,096 INR).
  • For undergraduate students, Queen Margaret residence provides en suite, self-catered accommodation through self-contained flats containing single study en suite bedrooms along with common dining/kitchen area. For the year of 2022-2023, the room costs 165 GBP per week (16,126 INR).
  • The Winton Drive residence provides self-catered accommodation for undergraduate and postgraduate students through self-contained cluster flats housing 2-5 persons containing single study bedrooms, a common kitchen/dining area, bathroom, and toilet facilities. For the year of 2022-2023, the room costs 134 GBP per week (13,096 INR).
  • For undergraduate students, the Wolfson Hall contains a mix of en suite, and standard single study bedrooms shared between 5 students, as are the bathrooms within the standard bedroom areas. For the year of 2022-2023, the single en-suite bedrooms cost 194 GBP per week (18,960 INR), and single standard bedrooms cost 176 GBP per week (17,201 INR).

It has been financial consultants to Wall Street and the UK and Scottish governments, foreign governments, and numerous central banks. At the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, the Adam Smith Business School performed strongly, with 89.6% assessed as world-leading or internationally excellent. Research students in Ph.D. programs are provided with quality, challenging training in theory and practice in all the disciplines offered by the business school. The staff regularly publish the school’s developmental papers as part of their working series.
