Established at the end of 1968, the Technical University of Dortmund was formerly known as the Dortmund university. It is a Technical University situated in Dortmund, North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. It offers more than 80 bachelor's and master's degree programs. The university is situated in the Ruhr region, the 4th largest urban area in Europe.   • The Technical University of Dortmund has a central university library that offers more than 1.75 million media, 97,000 Ebooks, and around 42,350 e-journals licensed to the library. The library is not only a place of learning and also a workspace, but it also offers a total of over 1700 workstations. The three departmental libraries have groups, workspaces, study rooms, workspaces for quiet studying, notebook workstations, computer desktops, and online library services.
  • Although the university does not provide particular medical services on campus, it does have facilities for transfer to hospitals or doctors. The health insurance plan that students are given also lists the doctors registered by the health insurance company. The health insurance companies settle everything directly with the doctor, hospital, or clinic. The important emergency phone numbers are available at the university help desk.
  • Several additional services are also available at the Technical University of Dortmund, where students can go for help and guidance.

Student life

The heart of Technical University Dortmund consists of the main cafeteria, Central Library, and the main auditorium. Many of the seminar rooms and lecture halls can also be found here. This entire area is known as the north campus. There is a smaller campus located to the South. The H-Bahn connects both campuses. 

  • Campus Life – Several cafeterias, cafes, and eateries abound across the entire campus, as do numerous locations for studying. There are various leisure activities at the Technical University of Dortmund, such as sports and games, recreation and entertainment, etc.
