The University of Hawaii at Hilo, abbreviated as UH Hilo, is a public-funded university in Hilo, Hawaii. It is one of the ten campuses of the University of Hawaii system. UH Hilo was founded in 1945 as the Hilo Center of the Hilo Boys School and was granted full-fledged university status in 1970. The university is home to 3400 students, out of 2.5 percent are international students. UH Hilo offers 85-plus degrees and certificates at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels through six academic units: College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource Management, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business and Economics, College of Hawaiian Language, Daniel K.   • Campus Life – The main campus of UH Hilo sprawls across 755 acres of land and covers the UH Hilo Science and Technology Park at Makai stretches and the Mauka Site. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as high-tech classrooms, laboratories, study halls, lounge areas, eateries, bookstores, etc. Some notable buildings on the university premises are – the Marine Science Building, the Student Services Building, the University Classroom Building, and so forth. 
  • Student Clubs – UH Hilo is home to more than 50 student-led clubs and organizations catering to academic interests, social causes, performing arts, etc. The university's Performing Arts Center is the hub where different clubs continue with their practice and performances. 
  • Sports Activities – Athletics and sports are two integral aspects of the students' lives at UH Hilo. The athletics team of the university is called the Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans.
