Transportation in the city

Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau is located in Wildau, a town in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. The distance between the town and the university is less than two miles with accessible public transportation services. Students can travel to the university by bus which lasts for 6 minutes while a taxi lasts for three minutes and costs between 7 to 9 EUR (568 to 730 INR). Moreover, the campus is only a seven-minute walk away from the town. Students can use all public transport in Brandenburg and Berlin (except for high-speed trains) with their university-issued student ID.

Services offered by the university

Located on a historic industrial and manufacturing site, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau’s green campus is equipped with teaching and administration buildings, a dining room, residence hall, and library, all interconnected by the Wildau S-Bahn train station, with direct access to Berlin. 

  • Nominated as Library of the Year, the modern, well-equipped, and state-of-the-art university library is equipped with more than 34,000 e-journals, e-books, and databases along with 100,000 printed media and about 150 magazine subscriptions. Students can also access over 150 study desks with a free internet connection. 
  • Among many laboratories, the Venture Innovation Lab used for teaching and research is a space characterized by a variety of applications of innovative rapid prototyping technologies, such as 3D printing, laser cutting, workstation software, and more. 
  • Mediothek is a self-learning center open for all students and staff at the university.  
  • Offered by the university, the Buddy Program provides a support network for which students, faculty, and staff members assist newly-arrived international students. The objective of the program is to smoothen the transition into German society and life at the university. 
  • Career Services accompanies students and graduates with internship and job search and  career preparation through workshops, career talks, information events, and other essential resources. 
  • Various officers and experts support and are responsible for students with special needs and interests. 

Student life

  • Students can participate in a range of sports that include aikido, Zumba, football, basketball, juggling, volleyball, and functional fitness, among many others. Additionally, the university offers health-oriented sports like yoga, pilates, running training, and break yoga.

  • Students interested in entrepreneurship are provided access to the university’s Startup Center which bundles offers from various projects and supports anyone interested in starting their own business. 
  • The university offers its students a variety of edibles and refreshments through its three on-campus dining options including a cafeteria, coffee bar, and dining hall. Students can choose from a range of meaty, vegan, vegetarian, and bakery options along with fresh regional and seasonal fruit. 
  • Offering both physical and mental health care services, the university is equipped with a long-standing specialist among other medical professionals to provide health checks, vaccinations, preventive healthcare, and sports medical examinations, among others.
