Transportation in the city

There is direct tram access between the campus and Nottingham train station as well as the city centre, with stops at Queen's Medical Center, University Park and King's Meadow Campus. From the University campuses to Nottingham city centre, a public bus service operates. There is a free inter-campus bus service ( Orange Line 34 bus ) for both students and staff. Various public transportation options are available to university students: NCT Pink line 31 * Trent Barton buses * CT4N * Robin Hood Network.


Services offered by the university

  • The Jubilee Campus is home to Nottingham University's Business School, School of Education and Computer Science, and National College of Leadership in Schools and Children's Service.
  • There are two schools in the Sutton Bonington Campus: Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine.
  • King's Meadow Campus houses Manuscripts and Special Collections, which are not a part of the teaching program. 
  • Medical School is used by the University of Nottingham’s students of Health Sciences, Life Sciences, and Medicine. Further, the facility houses a Clinical Skills Center, labs, and the Greenfield Medical Library.

Student life

The University of Nottingham has eight campuses, including campuses in Malaysia and China. Moreover, the University Park Campus is its main campus in the United Kingdom. Besides its main campus, it has the following campuses:

  • Students pursuing a medical degree have access to the Royal Derby Hospital and Nottingham City Hospital as university hospitals.
  • The Student Union organizes student activities on campus and affiliates over 190 clubs and societies. In addition, 76 clubs are affiliated with the Student Union's Sports Committee.
  • The University of Nottingham provides access to hundreds of e-books, e-journals and databases across all of its 10 libraries in the UK and abroad.
  • Students have access to 70 sports clubs, two student theaters, and a wide assortment of other entertainment opportunities.

On campus accomodation

There are 13 self-catered residence halls on the University Park campus and two on the Jubilee Campus, respectively, as part of the University of Nottingham accommodations. In addition, there are two residence halls (Melton and Cloister Hall) exclusively for graduates and five catered residence halls. Additional residences are available for students enrolled at the Royal Derby Hospital Medical School and the Lincoln Medical School.

  • Room Features: A bed, wardrobe, mirror, desk, cabinets, shelves, study furniture, cabinet, chair, along with a toilet, shower, and washbasin.

Internship opportunities (Part time job opportunities)

Internships at Nottingham University are offered as part of the Nottingham Internship Scheme (NIS). Students can choose from the following:

NIS spring internships are scheduled during Easter break and last ten days. Applicants will have to meet eligibility criteria, which will be outlined when the application process opens in February.

  • NIS Summer

Summer internships at NIS will last for eight weeks, starting in June 2022. As a minimum, the interns will be paid the National Living Wage.
