Martin Luther University is a public university in the cities of Halle and Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The university was formed in 1817 through the merger of the University of Wittenberg which was founded in 1502 and the University of Halle which was founded in 1691. The Martin Luther University is located of Halle-Wittenberg is located in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Halle is an economic and educational city in central-eastern Germany. It houses two of the oldest university in Germany - Leipzig and Martin Luther. One of Halle produce is salt which has been harvested there since at least the bronze age. Halle has some historic sights some of which are the Halloren Chocolate Factory and visitors' center which is Germany's oldest chocolate factory still in use, Giebichenstein Castle which one of it old castles and so many more. Halle's prominence as a railway center is set to grow with the arrival of the Erfurt-Leipzig/Halle high-speed railway.

It has a college misicum for musical activities, computer center for IT, sports center for sports activities. The university has some notable infrastructures like The Botanical Garden founded in 1698 and MLU's historical observatory, built in 1788.
