Deakin University, a Public University in Australia which was founded 1974 is named after the country’s second PM, Mr. Alfred Deakin. It is also placed in top 3% of World’s Universities in each of three major International rankings i.e. Times Higher Education, Academic ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and QS World University Rankings.
Deakin was the first University in the entire world to start an office in India. Certain programs like ‘Deakin at your doorstep’ are conducted by all eight learning centres across the Victoria region. This helps students who are residing in the rural area, or who are juggling between work, family and study.

Campus

Location

The University is located in Victoria, Australia which is Victoria’s fourth University and first one to focus on distance learning. The University has four campuses located at Burwood, Waurn Ponds, Geelong and Warrnambool. The Burwood campus in Melbourne is conveniently located in the vicinity of campus facilities like the medical clinic, food joint, bar, gym, bank, etc. Similarly, the Geelong Warun Ponds campus provides naturally rich residence with the picturesque landscape. Set on the banks of Hopkins River, the Warrnambool is also a good location.

Campus

The University is fully equipped with a good library, medical centres, cafeterias, prayer rooms, parent rooms, fitness centre, gym, bank, car parks, etc. However the parking space is limited. The campus has 24 hours operated computer laboratories and other research centres for fibres, textiles, carbon nexus, metal, casting, nuclear magnetic, plasma, etc.

Residing Options

The Deakin University provides both on-campus and off- campus residing options. At Melbourne Burwood Campus, the unique accommodation options are spacious, making both socialising and studying there fun. Burwood student village is available with 200 rooms and the new residence provides 400 rooms. The Geelong Warun Ponds campus has a capacity of around 800 students. The Warrnambool provides affordable residing options through shared studios and apartments for the students. All the residing options are conveniently close to the campus facilities.

Faculty

The University has two types of study modes: one is campus and another one is the cloud.
In campus mode, the students attend classes. They are taught by the well-known teaching fraternity. Teachers are helpful when you show interest in studies otherwise you are a free to leave the class anytime during the lecture. The university is also famous for implementing cloud mode of study wherein the students are enrolled as the regular students and have the similar syllabus for study. But they receive the course and study material online. However, they also have certain courses in which they are required to interact with the faculty members one to one.

Jobs and placements

The University provides career counselling to all of its students. It has also drafted a policy student’s placement guidelines and resources in partnership with Department of Human services. The University also a strong network of more than 20,000 alumni located all across the 120 countries.
