The university was founded in 1849 as the State Normal School and was granted full-fledged regional university status in 1983. The campus of CCSU is located at 1616 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06050. It is located at exit 29 of Route 9. The accessibility of CCSU is top-notch, and you can reach the campus by trains, buses, taxis, bikes, etc. Taking the bus to the CCSU campus is fast, inexpensive, and environment-friendly. Multi-ride tickets and passes are available from CT Transit. Similarly, CTFastrak is the state's first BRT system to use a bus-only highway for all or part of a journey. Students of CCSU can utilize the CTFastrak routes and the CT transit system to commute to and from the university campus. Thirdly, subway or metro routes are also available between Hartford and New Britain. Lastly, people who visit the CCSU campus by private vehicles can avail the university's free car parking facilities.
