Hans‑Peter Wild Talent Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

You can apply for a Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarship if

  • you are a Bachelor’s programme applicant for a MINT subject for the first semester and you have not yet completed or will complete a course of studies at Heidelberg University before commencing your studies (MINT subject must be studied with a share of at least 50%)
  • you are a Master‘s programme applicant for a MINT subject for the first semester and you have not yet completed or will complete a course of studies at Heidelberg University before commencing your studies (MINT subject must be studied with a share of at least 50%)

Good to know: You have not yet received a confirmation of a university place at Heidelberg University for the upcoming winter semester? This is not a problem, because you can apply for a Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarship before having received a confirmation of a university place.

Please note: Your application for a scholarship is not an application for a university place. Therefore, please apply additionally for a university place at Heidelberg University.

How to Apply for Hans‑Peter Wild Talent Scholarships

The application must be submitted via the online application portal. During the application period, the corresponding online application form can be accessed via a link on this page. The application is initially for a funding period of two semesters.

Please note the following steps when applying:

  • Register in the online application portal during the application period.
  • Complete the entire online application form, upload the required documents and submit your complete application until the end of the application period at the latest.

Documents Required for Hans‑Peter Wild Talent Scholarships

They need these documents from you

  • Statement of motivation (part of the application form)
  • Curriculum vitae in table form
  • At least two recommendation letters from professionals in the MINT field. These can be, for example: teachers, lecturers, associate professors, research group leaders, academic staff, lecturers within the framework of a pupils‘ study programme or pupils‘ academy
  • Certificate of university-entrance qualification (Bachelor’s programme applicants)
    First university diploma relevant for a Master‘s degree including the final grade (Master’s programme applicants)
    If this is not available by the end of the application period, a certificate of the university of current date confirming the academic achievements so far with an average grade
  • Evidence of the following MINT-related activities (if these are supposed to be considered in the selection process):
    prizes and awards, practical experience, completed vocational training, presentations and poster presentations given at conferences, published (co-) publications, a pupils‘ study programme, participation in conferences | seminars | pupils‘ academies | working groups
  • Admission letter (if available)
  • Modified bavarian formula

The diploma/certificate and evidence must be clearly assigned to your person, contain the time specification and show the MINT connection.

Evidence and certificates / diploma originally written in a language other than German or English, the diploma or certificate and an official translation into English or German must be uploaded.

In the case of foreign certificates, the final or average grade must also be converted into the German grading system and the corresponding official conversion must be uploaded.
