The Mannheim Scholarship represents the city's close ties with its university. By funding talented students, the City of Mannheim wishes to emphasize that well-educated young people are welcome at the economic and academic hub of Mannheim. Therefore, each year, the city funds three students with an amount of EUR 150 per month.|

The selection committee awards the scholarships based on talent and performance. The selection committee considers outstanding academic performance, social commitment, as well as personal circumstances, such as having a migrant or non-academic background.

In your letter of motivation, you should give a thorough (not excessive) explanation of why you apply for the Mannheim Scholarship. Please do not exceed the maximum number of 3,800 characters. Here are some helpful questions for the composition of your letter:
