The University of West Alabama is a single-campus university located at the heart of downtown Livingston on US Highway 11. The UWA campus sprawls across 600 acres of land and includes a lake and several nature trails.

  • The campus offers various integral facilities to students, including health services, late-night transport, night patrols, and top-notch campus security. 
  • The university has more than 60 student clubs and organizations involved in diverse activities like dance, music, social work, drama, etc. 
  • The University of West Alabama's athletics team is known as the West Alabama Tigers. They are involved in 14 sports, including football, basketball, softball, etc., known as the West Alabama Tigers. Its football team is also a member of the NAIA

On campus accomodation at The University of West Alabama

The University of West Alabama offers on-campus accommodation facilities through seven residence halls. Freshmen students are mandated to live on-campus for at least the first academic year. Moreover, the university encourages sophomores, juniors, and seniors to opt for on-campus residence facilities. Currently, 47 percent of UWA students live on-campus. It is noteworthy to mention that on-campus residency is a condition required to be eligible for some scholarships like the Trustee Scholarship at UWA.

  • All freshmen students occupy the Gilbert Hall of UWA, with 14 resident assistants always on duty to extend guidance and support to the new students. 
  • The remaining on-campus housing options at the University of West Alabama are: Hoover Apartments I and II, Patterson Hall, Reed Hall, Stickney Hall, and Selden Hall. 
  • The assignment of on-campus rooms depends upon the student's grades; the higher the scores, the better the chances of being able to pick a residence hall of one's choice.
  •  All residence hall rooms of UWA are furnished with beds, closets, desks, chairs, cabinets, and a dresser. 
  • The common facilities available to all student residents in all halls include television, cable, lounge areas, laundry, dining facilities, central heating, air conditioning, private washrooms, Wi-Fi, etc.
