Purdue University Northwest (PNW) is a public university in the United States. It was established in the year 2016 by the unification of Purdue North Central (Westville) and Purdue Calumet (Hammond). This unification helps in providing academic excellence to promote student education and opportunities.

PNW offers more than 70 programs for its undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In addition, its College of Business offers a well-organized MBA program.

The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and occupies #128-#165 position according to the ranking system of the Regional Universities Midwest.

Campus

Location

The university has two campuses, the Hammond Campus, located in Hammond and the Westville Campus, located in Westville.

Hammond is a city in Indiana, United States. The city is large and has a huge population of approximately 80,000. It lies on a nice terrain with lots of lakes and rivers, such as Grand Calumet River, Lake George Lake Michigan, Oxbow Lake. The city has a reliable transport system with several bus and railway stations. More so, shopping malls and stores are accessible in all streets of the city.

Westville is a small town in Indiana, the United States with a population of approximately 6,000. The city is lively and has its own share of development in terms of basic amenities and facilities. The transport system is equally reliable with several bus shuttles and taxis services.

Campus

Purdue University Northwest has a lot of infrastructural developments in each of its campuses. For instance, there are a number of recreational buildings, several student housing facilities,  a fitness center, a lodging center for Tourism and  Hospitality Management, as well as a Challenger Learning Center. In addition, there are a good number of lecture halls, seminar rooms, and other teaching facilities.  The university operates a standard library which is home to numerous books, journals, and other published materials.

Other infrastructures include the Gyte Science Building, the E.D Anderson Building that contains workshops, laboratories, and faculty offices, Andrey A. Potter Laboratory Building, Lawshe Hall, Porter Hall, Donald S. Powers Computer Education Building, among others.

Residing Options

The university provides a number of housing units for its students. These range from a single apartment to a shared apartment. The rooms are decent and comfortable. They are well furnished with the needed facilities to ensure comfortable living on campus. There other residences outside the campus for those students who prefer to stay off campus.

Faculty

Purdue University has a faculty to student ratio of 1:16. It has a total enrollment of 12,071 students and there's is an established cordial relationship between lecturers and the students.

Jobs and placements

The university has a good reputation nationally and internationally. This is helpful to graduates of the University because it increases the chance of securing a job after graduation.
