Lincoln University is a public university in New Zealand. It was founded in 1990 when it was separated from the University of Canterbury as an independent college. It is regarded as the oldest agricultural university in the Southern Hemisphere. In terms of enrolment, it is the smallest university in New Zealand.
Campus
The university has an active student union on campus since 1919. The student union runs several clubs such as the Soils Society, Tramping and Climbing Club, Wine Appreciation Club, Snowboarding Club, and Alpine Club. The campus has international students from 75 countries. The academic units include the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Environment, Society, and Design. An Entomology Research Collection, now the third-largest in New Zealand, has been present since the late 1960s.
