Founded in 1878 as a School of Agriculture, Lincoln University was formed in 1990 when Lincoln college, Canterbury was made independent of the University of Canterbury. The University is located in Lincoln, New Zealand and it specialises in areas like agriculture, horticulture, commerce, engineering, computing, hospitality, sciences, environment, transport, and so forth.

Location

Lincoln University’s primary campus is placed on 50 hectares(123 acres) of natural land located about 15 Kilometres(9 miles) outside the city of Christchurch (which is the largest city in South Island of New Zealand) in Lincoln, Canterbury.

Campus

The University’s Te Waihora campus is situated on 58 hectares of natural land with a lively and multicultural atmosphere. The campus has good facilities like a comprehensive library, IT laboratories, a free car park, eateries, a printery, and other world-class sporting facilities. It also has an on-campus accommodation such as the Halls of Residences, self-catered residential halls, and student’s flats.

Residing Options

Lincoln University offers a variety of residing options that will be suitable for the students, the university's campus homes about 600 students in a year, and you can choose to stay in a self-catered flat or housing, a well-equipped apartment or catered Halls of Residences. Living on-campus is fun, and you will get to experience more about school life, good services are also provided plus it takes just a short walk from lectures, gym, shops, café, and bars. The university also provides off-camp accommodation such as the Lincoln, Riccarton and Rolleston residences which are the popular residential options for students flats and its buzzing student’s communities.

Lincoln University has a total number of 294 academic staff and a total of 329 administrative staff. Classes are taught very well, and the students are given the necessary educational resources that will help further their studies in school.
