Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland (HTMi) is a private educational institute founded in the year 1999, that offers undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes. The Institute operates a campus in Sörenberg, Switzerland. HTMi Switzerland courses are centered around hospitality management development. Each semester, the Institute welcomes around 200 students from more than 45 countries to enroll in its various programmes.

Six centres make up the Hotel and Tourism Management Institute: The School of International Hotel and Tourism Management, The Centre for Career Management, The Centre for Events Management Training, The Student Service Centre, The International Hospitality Research Centre Switzerland, and The Centre for Culinary Management. External quality control of HTMi's courses is carried out by Swiss, UK, and international organisations.

The Student Services Centre is a one-stop shop for all kinds of administrative and living assistance.

  • The School of International Hotel and Tourism Management is committed to assisting students in achieving their educational goals.
  • Students can use the International Hospitality Research Centre in Switzerland to help them with research in their courses, publications, and conference organising.
  • The Centre for Events Management is a student-run organisation that helps students organise over 100 campus events each year.
  • HTMi provides students with e-course books to aid their learning and academic success. Aside from the course texts, the HTMi library has about 3000 physical volumes in the hospitality and tourism fields. For the goal of improving their research papers, students get access to over 500 e-books and e-journals with thousands of relevant articles.

Student life

  • Upon arrival, each student is given an iPad with access to the HTMi Mobile Application Suite, learning platform, class schedules, and e-books. 
  • Many student groups, clubs, and events are developed as a result of the HTMi Centre for Events Management's important role in students' academic and practical education. Students can participate in the SRC Student Representative Committee by taking the lead in making decisions that benefit HTMi students' everyday lives.
  • HTMi Switzerland Cost/Fees for studying each year varies from CHF 19,000 to CHF 24,500 (INR 1,479,659 to INR 1,907,449).

On campus accomodation

  • All of the rooms on the HTMi Switzerland Hotel campus have lovely views, and many have balconies with views of the mountains. All rooms offer televisions, phone lines, high-speed internet WIFI, central heating, and a safe, closet, shelves, and study desk for each student.
  • Rooms come in a variety of sizes and configurations, including single, double, and triple rooms. They are modern boutique hotel-style rooms located between the Panorama and Mariental campus buildings, providing a safe and comfortable setting.
  • On-campus and off-campus healthcare facilities are available. HTMi provides mandatory health insurance and all medical assistance in emergencies, such as First Aid and transportation to nearby medical centres.

Research opportunities at university

In the field of student research, HTMi is a world leader. To promote student research at all levels, the institute has its own International Hospitality Research Centre. Two student online journals are linked to promote our students' research, and students can speak twice a year at HTMi's conferences.

Renowned international scholars contribute their research skills and judge student research presentations at HTMi research conferences. Students' outstanding research is recognised by the Centre, which publishes two student journals quarterly. Their ultimate goal is to help each student develop into a self-directed learner with strong critical thinking and research abilities.

Internship opportunities (Part time job opportunities)

After their on-campus semester, every HTMi student is required to complete at least one, and typically two or three, 6- to 12-month internships in Switzerland or abroad.

The HTMi Centre for Career Management assists all students in selecting the appropriate internship and guiding them through their personal and professional growth. It establishes relationships with large hotel chains and places students, graduates, and professionals all around the world.

Placement - Companies and average salaries offered

Employer satisfaction among HTMi internship students is increasing over time, reaching 92%  in the year 2021, with 97%  of employers suggesting students for additional work. As a result, 92%  of students have full-time work arrangements before the course ends, rising to 94 percent within two months.

New HTMi graduates are still being recruited by the top 20% of global hotel corporations, with 73.4%  of graduates joining big international hotel chains.
