Student life
- The Royals are Hope International athletic teams. Since the 1999-2000 academic year, the university has been a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), while its competitive dance teams do not have a conference and compete at the NAIA level as unaffiliated teams.
- Among the famous student clubs are Asian Student Union, Anchor, Ballet Club, Black Student Union, Engineers Without Borders USA - Hope College Chapter, and Club Animalia (Pre-vet Club).
On campus accomodation
The college provides both on-campus and off-campus accommodation for students.
- Hope College houses its students in 11 residence halls.
- The HIU campus is divided into two sections: Alpha and Omega. Alpha is only for male residents, while Omega is only for female residents.
- Each section has its lobby, with a lounge connecting the two structures. Classes, chapel, library, cafeteria, and student center are within walking distance of Alpha and Omega.
- A standard Alpha and Omega room is a Quad, which sleeps four people and has a private bathroom and balcony.
- There are a limited number of double and single rooms available.
- Traditional community, suit, cluster-style residence halls, apartments, and cottage rooms are available.
- Cook Hall is primarily occupied by upper-level students, whereas all other residence halls are primarily occupied by first-year, second-year students, or both.
- Male-only, female-only, and co-ed residence halls provide students with a comfortable environment.
- Junior and senior students can choose between cottages and apartments.
- Most cottages and apartments have furnished living rooms, kitchens with appliances such as a refrigerator and stove, and dining tables and chairs.
- Every resident is assigned a double room with twin beds (XL-size), a desk, a chair, and a dresser.

Internship opportunities (Part time job opportunities)
Hope International University is the only college where business students can participate in the George F. Baker Scholars Program, allowing students to experience life outside the classroom through internships. An international student is permitted to work 40 hours per week while studying and working on assignments. In their junior or senior year, all Business and Management students must complete a paid internship. Business internships are an excellent way to put your skills to the test, contribute to an organization, and learn valuable lessons that will help you prepare for your career after college.
