It has an urban setting and is only 15 minutes away from midtown, downtown and Buckhead area, making it easier for the students to enjoy the areas around the campus. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta is the closest airport and is about 30 minutes drive away from the campus. Atlanta’s transit system, MARTA, is an ideal mode of transport for students who live off-campus as there are many train stations close to the campus. The university also operates Cliff, which is an on-campus shuttle system to offer enhanced convenience to the students.


The University is a member of Association of Research Libraries this has enabled it to have access to over 3.9 million print and digital volumes. Furthermore, over 83,000 electronic journals are available at any given time.
The campus also houses Emory University Hospital, Michael C. Carlos Museum, Winship Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, and a number of other academic facilities. In addition, there are art centers, and residency spaces.
The Schwartz Center for Performing Arts is where the University hosts a variety of programs that have in the past included rock concerts and jazz festivals among others.
The latest addition to the academic building setup is the Sanford S. Atwood Chemistry Center. This 270,000 sq. ft. research facility is equipped with all the modernized chemistry laboratory requirements.

    When it comes to on-campus residing options, Emory University will not fail you in that aspect as well. The place has arguably the best dorms in the country. It provides a variety of housing facilities, which include theme halls, single rooms, double rooms, gender-inclusive housing, suit-style, and full apartments. Each facility is retro fit with all the necessary amenities and they are maintained keeping in mind the highest of standards.
    If you are freshmen at the university, you will be offered with an abundance of residential hall options, like Evans, Dobbs, Hamilton Holmes, McTyeire, Longstreet- Means, and Turman. The Oxford campus of the university offers 4 residential communities, namely The Branham and East Complex, East Village, Haygood Hall and The Jolley Residential Center.
    Though it’s highly recommended to stay on-campus, there are few off-campus residing options available for students. These are limited and nothing really special about them. Most students use the off-campus housing at Clairmont Tower apartments costing nearly $800 per month. There are some other options near the campus costing around $500 of monthly rent for 4-5 bedroom apartments. Be ready to shuttle down to campus if you decide to stay in downtown Atlanta. But it’s better to have your own car, if you plan to stay off-campus.


    Emory University works in consonance with Georgia Institute of Technology and Perking University in China to jointly administer the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering.
    At Emory University the student-faculty ratio is maintained at 7:1 with an average class size of 25. This results in a better class room dynamic setting and potent discussions.
