Colorado Technical University was first established as Colorado Technical College in 1965. The primary aim of the college was to provide education to military personnel. In 1995, the College was renamed to Colorado Technical University. CTU is a for-profit school. The University falls under the umbrella of the Career Education Corporation, which operates about 50 campuses all over the United States.
As the name suggests, the university has a lot of focus on technology programs. A lot of the courses offered at CTU can be partially of entirely completed online. Infact, CTU has been ranked 125th in US News’ Best Online Bachelor Programs, 18th in Best Online Graduate Computer Technology Program, and 22nd in Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Program.
Making a hatrick of sorts, Military Times has ranked CTU as one of the best school for vets thrice in 2013, 2014 and 2016. The Council of College and Military Educators Institution award was conferred to CTU in 2008, for the university’s contribution to military education.
The university is known for its strong programs in the field of STEM. The following schools fall under the main CTU umbrella: College of Business & Management, College of Engineering & Computer Science, College of Health Sciences, College of Information Systems & Technology, College of Security Studies and College of Project Management. Location

The Colorado Technical University has its main campus in Colorado Springs. Two more campuses are located in Denver, the North campus in Westminster and the South campus in Aurora. The main campus of CTU is located in the city of Colorado Springs. This gives the students access to resources in the city.

Campus

CTU is offers courses primarily online. The Best Schools has included CTU in their list of “The 30 Most Popular Online Colleges”. Students taking courses on campus can take advantage of the on campus library and computer lab. There also a student lounge on campus that has Wi-Fi and food services. Students taking online classes can also access the virtual library as well as explore common interest group on the Virtual Commons.

Residing Options

Colorado Technical University does not offer on campus housing services or meal plan options. Students will have to fins housing off-campus. Shared apartments are available in and around the college campus. Since the college is located in the city, there is no dearth of apartments on rent or people looking for roommates.

Though the tuition fee is not too high, you can still cut back many big bucks while studying here. Make sure that you partake in the CTU Fast Track i program offered by the university. This will allow you to test out of classes you have prior knowledge about. This offers the dual advantage of reducing fees and cutting down on tuition hours, leading to early graduation.
You will be encouraged to talk to your academic advisors about the program beforehand to make sure you take full advantage of the opportunity. The Fast Track tests are free of charge. If you score 70% or above you will be able to test out of the class.

Jobs and placements

On campus career development services are available to students. Services such as resume writing and interview preparation are offered to students to help them succeed in obtaining in a job or internship. Career Coaches are assigned to students to help them create a roadmap for the future. The university also ties up with companies to offer students jobs and internships.
CTU’s strong alumni network is extremely active. Networking opportunities are offered to students through various Alumni programs.
CTU’s Educational Alliances programs works with companies to offer financial aid to employees studying at CTU. Employee education programs are flexible and customized to meet students’ needs.
