Transportation in the city

Colorado School of Mines is located in Golden, Colorado, and the distance between the city and the university is less than a mile. The campus is a seven-minute away however, students can even travel to the university by bus and taxi which last for six minutes and one minute, respectively. 


Services offered by the university

  • Colorado School of Mines carries out its educational processes in eleven academic buildings featuring audio and visually equipped classrooms with 20-250 seats in size. Additionally, the Center for Technology and Learning Media contains 20-30 computers. 
  • Students can approach the university for academic advising, academic support, and even peer support. 
  • The Arthur Lakes Library has an extensive collection of books, media, online, and research resources along with computer labs, a multimedia studio, and study and meeting rooms. 
  • The university offers academic support services and resources through peer-led study sessions, faculty assistance, tutoring, and different forms of academic coaching.

  • The Student Recreation Center is home to a rec gym with an elevated jogging track, fitness center, a competition-quality rock climbing wall, three multi-purpose dance/fitness studios, and general locker room space.
  • The Counseling Center provides mental health services that are confidential, voluntary, and covered by student fees. Students can opt for individual and group therapy along with workshops and consultations. Additionally, the Student Health Center provides health services throughout the year. 

On campus accomodation at Colorado School of Mines

Colorado School of Mines offers on-campus housing for all students through five residence halls with suite-style rooms and two fully furnished apartments. 

  • First-year students can choose from any of the five residence halls which feature single, double, and triple rooms with community kitchens and laundry facilities.
  • Sophomore students are offered apartment/residence hall hybrid living options featuring fully furnished studios, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. 
  • Upper-class students reside in an apartment complex featuring one, two, and three-bedroom units for students and one and two-bedroom units for families.
