The College of William & Mary is the second oldest college in the United States of America. It was established in the year 1693 and is only second to Harvard University. Location

The super massive 1,200 acre campus is located in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. The campus is often regarded as the most beautiful university campus in the entire country.

Campus

Within the confines of the campus are not only buildings but also woodlands and a manmade lake which is known as Lake Matoaka.
The new campus was constructed between 1950 and 1980. It was constructed in a manner so that it would accommodate the old buildings and other surrounding structures. The General Assembly of Virginia had established The Board of Visitors whose purpose was to supervise and govern them.
The College of William & Mary comprises of the following academic department:

  • Faculty of Arts and Sciences,
  • Mason School of Business,
  • School of Education,
  • School of Law, and
  • School of Marine Science.
  • Each department comprises of an entire set of facilities that comprise of classrooms, labs, lecture halls, et cetera, within themselves.
    In terms of amenities the campus is well equipped with all the modern day amities and facilities. The campus now houses a well-equipped professional gym, and walls for rock climbing. There is also an outdoor amphitheater which is often used by the students.
    The Kaplan Arena is often used for showcasing, concerts, and functions of various kinds.

Moreover, they are fit with the most modern amenities and all the necessary facilities ranging from reading rooms, to security, to health centers.

    Faculty

    The College of William & Mary is built by its highly decorated and distinguished faculty members. They have received honors to the highest of the degree and are there to assist the students in any way possible.
    The University offers many programs which are of international standards. It also offers programs in collaboration with prestigious institutions such as a joint engineering program with Columbia University, and an international joint degree program with the University of St. Andrews.
