Transportation in the city
The Bangor University campus is highly accessible, with direct train connections to London, Manchester, Crewe, and Cardiff. A bus or a boat can also be used to get to the campus.
Student life at Bangor University
- Traditional sports including Rugby, Netball, Football, and Tennis, as well as outdoor activities such as surfing, Snowsports, Canoeing, and Windsurfing, are all available. Students can also try something new, such as Underwater hockey, Quidditch, or Ultimate Frisbee.
- Supermarkets, grocery stores, high-street businesses, cafés, pubs, and restaurants abound in the city center. Bangor is an ideal location for sports fans. The Pontio Center, a social hub and home to the Students' Union, comprises a cinema, theatre, lecture theatres, exhibition spaces, and other amenities.

While most candidates are offered a place in one of the University's two student villages, Ffriddoedd or St Mary's, the University also has a postgraduate hall named Neuadd Garth on College Road.

- Ffriddoedd Village features over 2,000 rooms, most of which are en-suite. Neuadd Reichel, the basic hall, includes 120 rooms with communal kitchens and bathrooms, with the main university building being roughly a 10-minute walk away. There are stores, laundries, and common rooms in this community, as well as Bar Uno café bars and the Canolfan Brailsford sports facility.
- Around 600 rooms are available in St Mary's Village, including en-suite rooms, budget rooms, 5 studio flats, and townhouses. The Bryn Eithin is the village's only standard hall, with communal facilities and a kitchenette. Five resident halls make up this community, which includes roughly 300 en-suite beds and 30 studios. There is a café, laundromat, common room, exercise facility, and other amenities in this community.
