ProTalent is based on the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship program initiated by the German federal government in 2011. The University of Münster has participated in this program from the very beginning and, under the name ProTalent, has since awarded scholarships to particularly outstanding and socially committed students. The scholarship program opens up new perspectives for scholarship recipients, provides scope for in-depth study, and motivates them to achieve further excellence. It also facilitates a scholarship culture in which sponsors and recipients maintain close contact and exchange.
The general duration of ProTalent funding is based on the standard period of study for the respective degree program. Funding is initially granted for one year (for the winter and summer semesters).
