YOCKET NEWS: German Aspirants, this is for you!
germany really said "anyway here's a NEW exam" π we thought APS was the final boss
Real update: Germany's APS just added a new test called dMAT for engineering, commerce, and business masters applicants.
First test date is 26 Sep 2026, registration opens 29 June 2026. Cost is €150 (~βΉ14k). Applies from summer semester 2027 intake onward.
It's not replacing APS, just sitting on top of it as one more thing to check off π§
Insights you actually need:
→ Already shipped your APS docs before 29 June, or already have your APS certificate? You're exempt. This doesn't touch you.
→ It's not pass/fail. A low score doesn't auto-reject you, the German university decides how much weight to give it
→ Registration closes 15 Sep 2026, results land 12 Oct 2026; so there's basically zero buffer if your university deadline is tight.
If your degree falls outside engineering/commerce/business, you can breathe. For everyone else, start factoring €150 and one more Saturday into your timeline.
