JHU has a highly selective admissions process, with only an 8% acceptance rate. However, our success story with Shriya Yanamandra is proof that getting into JHU is not impossible. Shriya completed a UG in Biotechnology from the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology with a CGPA of 8.4. She scored 7.0 on her IELTS. With Yocket Premium, Shriya was able to get admission to Johns Hopkins University for an MS in Biotechnology!
Here are a few tips we gave to Shriya to improve her chances of getting into JHU:
Tip 1: Highlight unique contributions:
JHU seeks candidates who are well-rounded and contribute to their varied community. Highlight any extracurricular involvement, leadership positions, or pertinent internships that highlight your abilities, dedication, and potential to make a difference outside of the classroom.
Tip 2: Secure strong recommendations:
Obtain excellent recommendation letters from instructors or supervisors who are familiar with your work and can vouch for your aptitude for the classroom and relevant experience. Make sure they have enough time to draft their proposals and provide them with details about your objectives and your hopes for JHU.
Tip 3: Aim for top grades and research experience:
JHU places a heavy emphasis on academic credentials and is quite selective. Prioritize getting the best grades you can in your undergraduate studies, and look for research opportunities to show off your initiative and intelligence. Any project-based experience or research articles will strengthen your submission.
