About

The University for the Creative Arts was established in 1856 in Canterbury, UK. It is a specialist art and design university re-established in 2005 when the Surrey Institute of Art and Design merged with the Kent institute of art and design. It became known as University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone, and Rochester. Although both these institutes had degree-awarding status, the newly founded organization was granted university status in 2008. Again, in 2016 it merged with the Open College of the Arts.
