The City College of New York, CCNY Admitted Student Profiles & Alumni

The alumni, alumni association leaders, and board of directors make up the City College of New York Alumni Association, sometimes known as CUNY. With mentorship, scholarships, career panels, orientation, grants, and other events, the group helps current students. Several distinguished City College of New York graduates include:

• Theodore Twersky Scientist who developed the scattering hypothesis in 1943.
• President, CEO, and Chairman Andrew Grove, born in 1960, was named Man of the Year by TIME magazine in 1997.
• Real estate entrepreneur and Simon Property Group co-founder Melvin Simon was born in 1949.
• Basketball coach for the New York Knicks since 1942, Red Holzman.
• Kahn, Robert E. Internet pioneer born in 1960; co-creator of the TCP/IP protocol.
