Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship Coverage

This scholarship is valued at up to $100,000 and will cover the cost of your tuition fees, living expenses, flights, textbooks and health cover.

One scholarship will be offered inclusive of normal full-time study load of the course:

  • Full tuition fee of postgraduate studies,
  • Annual living allowance – $12,000 per year,
  • Textbooks and annual return flight to India – up to $4,000 per year,
  • Overseas Health Cover for the duration of program – single cover only,
  • Student Amenity Fees,
  • On-campus accommodation for the duration of the program.

Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be an international student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003. This excludes Australian citizens and permanent residence.

You must hold Indian citizenship and be a current resident of slum communities in Delhi, India where ASHA Society works. Proof of residency will be required.

The applicant must have applied for but not yet commenced a postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney at the time of application for the award.

Applicants commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney are not eligible to apply.

Applicants wishing to be considered must first meet all requirements set by Asha Community Health and Development Society (ASHA) and be recommended as a preferred candidate by this organisation.

Who Can Apply for Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship

You must:

  • be an international student
  • be a new student
  • be an Indian citizen and current residents of slum communities in Delhi, India where ASHA Society works
  • have applied for but not yet commenced a postgraduate coursework degree.
