SJSU MS CS

Question

So I saw somewhere in yocket that SJSU doesnt allow NON CS background students for MS CS program. But yocket suggest SJSU for me in college finder even though im from ECE.
Can i take my chancee with SJSU or is it hopeless?

I would not suggest you to apply for se and cs its waste of your money instead apply for ce you will easily get an admit if your profile is decent like a gre score of 305 with other stuff if you have .

hey the opporunity are the same since you can see that cs , se , ce are the same while applying maybe if you are in ce people will be more interested in networking companies like cisco , aruba(hp) rather than microsoft , google , linkedin and many pure software based companies like people in se and cs choose . But one thing people in ce do who are interested in sde roles they network with se and cs people so that they can know about the opportunities and if you know the way it doesnt matter whether you are se or cs or ce .

Yes SJSU is among the Top Priority college for Indians for CSE because of It's college fees and Is in Bay area. Likewise as you mentioned Your Gpa is Pretty Avg for CSE at SJSU and Since you are changing Branches , You would be put under a lot of electives which would drive up the tuition for you and increase burden and time duration of the course, for So and So reasons they have a ground to reject you. Even GRE is Optional So take up GRE and Try for a Score more than 320+ as you are trying for CSE. Regarding your work experience , It wouldn't help you much as an Analyst you wouldn't have learnt much of CS fundamentals in a service based company whereas if you were applying for MIS or Data Analytics It would have been a different case. Having work Experience in Product company would hold more value for switching branches. 
So your Best Bet to secure an admit is to apply for Software Engineering Program which is almost same as CSE and where CSE might be Research Oriented and Software Engineering is Job Oriented Program. Applying to CSE would be ambitious in Your Case , You can Try your luck.

Regarding the suggestions, the tool makes the suggestions from the Rankings available online and Other Data Points. It Doesn't take in the consideration of Indian students trend and to get more accurate data you have to buy the Premium version.

Hi,
So sadly SJSU don't accept, though there are exceptional cases and some more but from my side I'll not recommend you to strongly go for SJSU but yes surely you can try to apply it's not totally hopeless.
You should also keep some of the good Universities as your Backup just in case they don't allow a stream change.
Also you can prepare strong holds of the CS background to improve your chances to get into Universities.

So do you think I should not apply to cse programs in top 50 colleges because of all conditions, pre-reqs and tution getting affected, will be similar and mostly it would be rejections. 
PS: Although its a branch change, my coursework had a few CSE components too.

Thanks for the suggestion.
But does the CE program in SJSU have the same level of opportunities as CS. Since the coursework is quite different, will it be difficult to get into CS based roles like SDE etc.
